Toyota Celica, a sporty 4-cyl hatchback coupes are virtually unchanged for 2005, which Toyota says will be their final model year. Toyota Celica offers a 140-hp GT model with standard 5-speed manual transmission and a 180-hp GT-S with 6-speed manual. Automatic transmission is available for both and provides the GT-S with steering-wheel buttons for manual shifting. Other shared options include ABS, front side airbags, xenon headlamps, remote keyless entry, sunroof, and rear spoiler. Both also offer an Action Package with rear spoiler and "aero" lower-body panels. Exclusive GT-S options include leather upholstery and 16-inch wheels instead of 15s.
Toyotas are known for quality, durability, and high resale value, yet Toyota Celica has been a tough sell in a harsh, fickle market segment. That's why it's going away. At least dealers should be offering attractive end-of-model discounts while supplies last.
